What's Your Movie?
I just watched What's Your Number? A bit of a chick flick but I loved It. I probably would not have even seen this movie except It was staring my favorite actress Anna Faris. In the end it was just a well crafted movie. The concept was good I liked the actors and actresses, the dialog was good. And a nice brake from all the action movies I've been seeing.

Voom, Voom Due
I watched Cars 2. Now Cars number one wasn't my favorite Pixar move. I'm not really into cars that much. But It had a story that transcends the localized content. So is Cars 2 the same, better, or possibly worse then the original. Id say it's almost better. The Good sequel is a magic trick few studios have master, or at least as well as Pixar. The first movie was mostly about cars, with a little bit of character development thrown in to give the audience something to invest in while they watched the cars eye candy. But Cars 2 isn't really about cars at all. Which is weird for a movie containing nothing but cars. Cars 2 is a spy movie, with car exec plot drapings. But I like spy movies which is why I actually liked this movie a little more than the first.. The only thing I thought was a little under developed was the the involvement of Lightning McQueen. Lightning McQueen's story arc seamed a little neglected at times. It all worked out in the end, but it seemed a little messy. But still as I said before, it all worked out in the end.
Now This Is My Movie
I watched the Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. Lets just say I loved it, not everyone will, but I did. It's a true Sci-Fi Movie. Not a lot of real action just enough movement to keep the movie flowing. Considering the main character never says a work, well sort of but that's a spoiler, you really get invested in his struggle. But the movie will really make you think. Witch is what every half descant Sci-Fi should do. The movie is still not too into it's self, to appeal to a broad audience. Witch is a problem that befalls most of its Sci-Fi bretherin. The way the movie played was almost like a Documentary, with out a slow stuffy pace.

An Oldie But A Goodie
I watched My Cousin Vinny last nite it's an older movie. But it is a true classic. Every thing just flows. The core mistaken identity premise, although relativity unlikely, is made believable, and almost irrelevant to the rest of the movie. I mean it's all about Vinny.

A week of Movies
Just got back from Vacation, watched a few movies.
Fist off Bad Teacher, a bit of a non standard romantic comedy. I liked it but it a little light, wait for it to come to home video.
Green Lantern, boring, I almost fell a sleep in the theatre. The end was half decent. But Ryan Reynolds was not used to his true potential.
X-Men First Class, I loved this movie. Go see it right now. I'm buying this the second it hits DVD.
Transformers: Dark Side Of The Moon: This movie was insane, It's like wall to wall action. Almost with out any of the comedic bits of the the first two. There are funny bit, but there small and short. Plus the movie is long almost three hours long.
Also I saw T:DSOTM in 3D. I'm on the fence as to weather or not this is better than 2D. It's kinda distracting and awkward wearing the glasses. But if it's the right movie the 3D effect pulls you in more.

Old And New, Two That Are Good
First of I watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off. This movie is a true classic. It's been quite a while since I had seen the movie. And it really held up dispite it's age, and the fact that it truly is a product of its area.
The next movie I watched was Bhoothnath, it's an East Indian movie. But it has a real western feel to it. They still break out into song once and a while, but even then the songs have a western feel. They even do hip hop and Rap in one song. The story is basically about a boy who befriends a ghost. The movie has real polish to it. The cinematography is really well done. The Visual effects were even well done, it was hard to tell if they were computer generated or not. But at any speed, the effects were great. Their is only one part where the effect being done was a little corny, but it was still in tolerable limits. It was the part were the ghost makes funny faces.

Oldie but a goodie
I just watched Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. This is one of my Favorite movies. A good scifi premise, solid action. But the real reason this movie works is the dynamic between Snipes and Stallone.

A Nice Little Movie
Watched Three men and a baby. I watched this when I was younger. Now that I'm older I can appreciate it more. The chemistry between the three men is spot on. And the comedy works on a universal level.

Not The First
I just watched the second trailer for X-Men First Class. Definitely going to watch that movie. But then again I'm a big X-Men fan. I remember watching the animated series when I was young. I even own all the past X-Men films even X-Men 1.5

A Pure Classic
I watched a classic the other nite. It should be presented in schools along side Shakespeare and Mozart. The movie was WarGames. This movie is truly a timeless classic. They have made a sequel to WarGames. It's descent, the WOPR even makes a cameo. But it's still not as good as the first one. But it's Mathew Broderick that really makes WarGames work.

A Fun Time
OK, I watched some good movies that I've seen before but are so good you must watch them more than once.
Fist off, Meet Dave with Eddie Murphy. The movie is vary inventive and just down right funny. But there is a good story behind the gags. This movie is a bit more of an intellectual comedy. But in my option in the days of American Pie, we need more smart comedy's. Not that a raunchy comedy is in a lesser league it's just different. And you need a balanced diet in all things.
Now the second movie. The best Christmas movie ever The Ref. I truly can't say enough good things about this movie. For those of you that have not seen this movie. The movie is basically about a jewel thief who takes a family hostage and in order tho survive the ordeal the family has to confront there dysfunctions. It's that and so much more, my limited summery skills can't do justice to the brilliant plot, but you should at least get an idea. If it's not Christmas still watch this movie. If it is Christmas you should go out of your way to see this movie.

Not The Final Post
I watched The Final Countdown, satring Kirk Douglas, and Martin Sheen. Now this is rather an old movie (1980). I remembered watching it when I was little. And this movie has aged well. Most of the time it's like your watching a documentary. There was a lot of footage from a real life aircraft carrier. I highly recommend you checking this one out. The plot is basically about a modern day aircraft carrier the is transported back to the day before the attack on Pearl Harbour. Then there's the whole dilemma as the interfere with the past or not.

Last Of The Ordinary Posts
At least for a while. The last No Ordinary Family for the season aired the other night. And it was far from disappointing. The Mothers new powers were reveled, she can now run so fast as to run in to the future. Witch is pretty cool. The Daughter was forced to erase the memory of here boyfriend witch was a little sad. And the shape shifting villain was brought back to life, and she has plans for the Lab Tech's super baby.
But how I'm I to last until the second season starts, and there are rumors that the show could be canceled, say it ant so.

A Good Movie And Me
After last weeks train wreck of a movie it was nice to watch a good movie. And it was not only good but great. One of the best I've seen in a long time. The movie I am referring to was Marley And Me. The movie is about a very bad and unruly dog that grows on his owners. The Dog chews every thing makes all kinds of messes and does not listen. But in the areas that matter it turns out the dog is actually the best dog in the world. Through the love that Marley gives the family learns to cherish the Dog as a well thought of member of the family. The beginning of this movie is funny. The middle of this movie is heart worming. The end of this movie is quite sad. A journey that the viewer will enjoy, be entertained, and come away with a real good life lesson. This is a movie that the whole family can enjoy.

Yet Anouther Ordinary Post
I watched No Ordinary Family again last night. There were some shocking revelations in the episode. The mothers side kick, the lab tech, has some how gained powers. Plus there's a new threat to the family. One development that they are introducing is the fact that the daughter is being pulled slowly down a darker path by her boyfriend. It will be interesting to see what happens there. Also there was also a pretty good fight sequence in this weeks show. The episode ends with a pretty good cliffhanger as well.

Warning Dace Movie Ahead
Last night I had quite a adventure in movie land. I watched what could possibly be the wost movie in history.
To start off with, it was a dance movie. A click that ranges from mediocre to kitsch. Now were not really including Musicals, a genre of there own. With some exceptions like Hair Spray witch is a must see, just a load of fun. But I digress, back to the the train wreck that is Dance Flick. This movie has not a single intelligent bone in it's script. The movie had some crude humor but even that was not as sophisticated as the pie movies or something by the farrelly brothers. The low brow humor seamed to be thrown in just to get a quick laugh, which it failed to do. I did laugh a few times, but I felt dirty afterwords. And even when I laughed, half the time it was during a part that you shouldn't be laughing at. The actors were good, but wasted on a bad movie.
Avoid Dance Flick by all manse possible.

The Man Who Stares At Movie Screens
I just finished watching The Men Who Stare At Goats. I had high hopes, but I just knew that the movie could not live up to the source material. I do know quite a bit about the background for this movie. I happen to be a paranormal/supernatural buff. The movie tried to approach the content from a humerus side, whale remaining neutral about the validity of the subject matter. Although the truth may even be funnier than what was depicted in the movie. I still think a documentary, or some similar approach would have done the material more justice. But forget for a minute the facts in the movie, an look at it from an entertainment perspective. And even on this limited criteria the move falls short. It's just not that engaging, a rather mediocre outing.

Two For One
Kung Fu Panda 2 is coming soon. I must say I was a big fan of number 1. I do seam to like animated movies a little more than maybe I should. My number one movie from last year was Magamind. I will not go into the details but if you haven't seen Magamind do so.
Another Animated film coming out soon is Puss In Boots. You know I going to see it although I really should not. What Dream Works has done to the Shrek franchise is just monsterus. They have pillaged the IP on that property to the point that they had to promise to end it to get people to go and see there movie. And now we have spin offs now that the main line is dead. Now in Hollywood this happens all the time, but that doesn't mean it should. Now don't get me wrong I love sequels. Just do it right, and if you need an example look over to Pixar.

Anouther Ordinary Post
I watched another episode of No Ordinary Family last night. The love vixen plot thread was kinda lame. But I loved the go between dialog of the daughter and her boy friend. That had me laughing. But I have to say I won't to see more Super Brain action. Of all the powers on the show, that's the coolest.

Ten Things I Like About This Movie
I just watched 10 Things I Hate About You. This is actually my first viewing. I know this is considered a classic and is on a number of must see lists, at least for the genre. So what's my personal opinion of the movie. I loved it it was really good. This movie deserves all the accolades. The movie is pretty much your standard cookie cutter teen romantic drama. Although it uses a few cliches, it deploys them well.
As for the trailers I saw this week there was one that stood out...
Bad Teacher, staring Cameron Diaz. If the movie is half as funny as the trailer, then this movie will rock. The movie sort of looks like Superbad only from the grownups point of view.

Trailers
I just watched the trailer for Something Borrowed. It looks like a bit of a chick flick, but that doesn't mean it will not be good. The movie looks like it has a good love triangle going. The only difference from your average love triangle is this one was more thought out. I will probably go see this movie.
But on a side note I kinda like the selection of movies labeled "Chick Flicks" because first off I only judge a movie one it's own merit. Not on what it's label is or the option of some one else. And second chick's some times have good taste in movies. Not that there are not duds in the genre, but a well trained eye can usually spot them.
The other trailer I watched is the second trailer for Thor. This is one of many superhero movies coming out. Although it will not be like most, because it will focus more on mythology.

No Ordinary Post
I watched No Ordinary Family last night it was the "No Ordinary Proposal" episode. This was not the best in the series, but still good TV. One of the things I think was dragging it down was all the plot strands. A little bit is necessary to keep an arch going. It just slowed down the pace of the show a little bit. It would have been a total bust if not for the battle near the end. The battle was probably one of the better action sequences, and it kept the standard high, witch is what we have come to expect from the show.

40 More
I just watched The 40-year-old virgin UNRATED, again. Let me tell you it gets better with age. I have it on DVD so later I will go through the special features. Steve Carell has done a lot of good stuff since this movie, but this is still one of the to ones from him.

Sleepover, but wait...
Last night for movie night we watched Sleepover. The movie is aimed at teen aged girls an if your not a teen girl don't just pass over this movie. This is a well made move, it had me laughing out load more than once. There are some points in the movie that it tries to approach from a serious angle but they are awkward and thankfully brief.
Not many outside the target age will bother to see this movie, but if you do your will be in store for a relaxing cheerful comedy.
I just watched the trailer for Big Mammas: Like Father, Like Son. I have to admit I found the first two mildly humorus. And I know we shouldn't incourge them. But bI'll probibly still watch it when it comes out.
